Quality Assurance Throughout the Process
STM Inspection AS was established in 2011. We provide a full range of non-destructive testing (NDT) services, statutory inspection of lifting equipment, positive material identification (PMI) using spectrometry, hardness testing, and inspection and maintenance of drilling and well equipment.
We frequently assist with the approval or certification of products in accordance with predefined standards or regulatory requirements. We can also provide support before production begins to optimise manufacturing methods and process sequences. STM Inspection AS provides in-house Level 3 services for all NDT methods.

Our Services
Certified Inspection
We help ensure that equipment operates safely and reliably in accordance with applicable regulations and requirements. We perform inspections, maintenance and repairs of equipment used for lifting operations.
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
Non-destructive testing for quality assurance and integrity assessment. We examine materials and components without causing damage or alteration, offering a wide range of methods including ET, MT, PT, VT, RT and UT/PAUT.
Workshop Services
In addition to inspection and NDT, we provide engineering, maintenance and repair services for offshore, maritime and general lifting equipment at our workshop in Ågotnes. Our services include material and load testing, hardness testing, pressure testing and other preventive measures that extend equipment service life.

| PT | Penetrant Testing | Surface-breaking defects in non-porous materials, including stainless steel and aluminium. |
| MT | Magnetic Particle Testing | Surface and near-surface defects in ferromagnetic materials only. |
| ET | Eddy Current Testing | Surface defects, including inspection through paint and coatings, as well as tubes and heat exchangers. |
| UT | Ultrasonic Testing | Internal defects and thickness measurement. |
| PAUT | Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing | Internal defect detection with imaging (sector scans) and detailed documentation. |
| RT | Radiographic Testing | Volumetric inspection for internal defects using X-rays or gamma rays. Common gamma sources include Ir-192 and Se-75. |

STM Inspection AS is certified in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and is a certified inspection enterprise (S1, S2 & G X). Our inspectors are certified in accordance with ISO 9712/NS 477.

- Approved under DNVGL-CP-0484 for NDT (all methods) in classification projects
